OKAYOK announces new F/W ’23 collection, dropping September 18 and 25

The new range of made-in-Canada items is inspired by Bauhaus design

Today, proudly made-in-Canada fashion label, OKAYOK, will release its first fall/winter 2023 drop online on okayok.ca, followed by a second drop on September 25. The Toronto-based fashion brand is known and loved for its creative, light-hearted designs and F/W ‘23 is no exception with a series of meta graphics drawing inspiration from the revolutionary spirit of Bauhaus design.

OKAYOK is fusing seemingly simple elements such as circles, squares, and triangles with eye-catching colours and font-based graphics for this new collection. The results are fashion-forward wearable designs handcrafted to inspire conversation and spark joy.

“This season I’m acknowledging my imposter syndrome as a non-graphic designer leading a graphic-driven fashion brand,” says Adrienne Butikofer, founder and designer, OKAYOK. “Designing this collection was about playing with basic graphics and core design principles. I took delight in merging shapes and fonts in ways that celebrate design norms and the processes involved. I wanted the pieces to feel familiar but also unexpected.”

(L-R) Bauhaus Sweatshirt, Split Tee, Coco Loungepant

Using resources such as the original graphic design textbook ‘Principles of Two Dimensional Design’ and the history of Bauhaus, OKAYOK’s F/W ‘23 color story employs the rule of three colors, with a deliberate inclusion of a third tone to push designs further. Locally-dyed shades in Shocking Red, Lavender and Eggplant infuse each piece with vibrancy, weaving a harmonious blend of hues.

Highlights of the collection include the Long Sleeve Split tees, the unisex Bauhaus Sweatshirt made from a garment dye hack, and the return of the beloved wide-leg Coco Loungepant, in an elevated fit made for all body types.
