Matte PR Champions Connectivity for Refugees in Malta in partnership with MOAS
Matte PR is proud to announce a transformative two-year partnership with the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS), which will see it support new Wi-Fi connections inside Malta’s two refugee welcome centres.
Our CEO and founder, Heidi Ruggier, traveled to Malta to celebrate the initiative’s launch with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Hal-Far Open Centre in Birżebbuġa. Special thanks to Robin Kay, who generously donated funding to install all necessary equipment, such as modems and routers.
We recognize that in today’s digital world, access to the internet is not just a luxury but a necessity. It connects individuals with essential services, educational resources, and, importantly, allows them to stay in touch with their families.
Malta, a key entry point in Europe for migrants seeking asylum, has seen a significant increase in arrivals since 2008, and today it is one of the largest hubs for migration from North Africa to Europe.
This project underlines our belief in the power of communication as a fundamental human right. Through this partnership, we’re empowering asylum seekers in Malta by providing them with crucial connectivity tools.
This initiative is part of our give-back pledge, THE DEAL, which commits 3% of our annual revenue to support impactful local and global causes.
