Starting out as a content creator can be daunting. What was your ‘aha’ moment when you realized this was something you wanted to pursue seriously?

I actually used to have a small business where I upcycled vintage clothing. I had some videos go really viral there and I was like…  wait this would be fun to do for myself! I had just moved to Toronto at the time, and then sharing places online that I was discovering came naturally.

Your content blends food with lifestyle and personal touches. How do you balance showcasing your favourite eats while keeping your content fresh and engaging?

I listen to the numbers! I analyze my own content performance all the time… and I experiment with new hooks, editing styles, and continue to create what my audience loves watching. I create for them after all!

Has there been a piece of content that surprised you with how well it resonated with your audience?

My best performing content is actually when I open up about my struggles with acne/self-worth. I think people are used to always seeing influencers in a curated capacity. When I show up online, without the editing, without the makeup/filters/etc, it’s overwhelmingly incredible to connect with my audience on a WAYYY more personal level.

When doing collaborations, how do you decide which brands or partners align with your values and aesthetic?

I think introduction calls and briefings are really important! Learning about how you can help tell a brand’s story, and if that aligns with you is the first step!

You’ve become a go-to source for the best eats and newest spots in Toronto. How do you decide which places to feature and share with your audience?

I try to always be on the lookout for new reso launches and hidden gems in different areas of the city. I try to go against the grain of the popular spots trending on socials and spread the small business love! I visit every spot as a regular customer, pay for my own food and if I like the bites, I make a video! That’s how you make it the most authentic.
