Inclusive laser clinic, Bluebird Laser, announces Kensington Market relocation

Bluebird Laser, a pioneering laser hair removal clinic founded by Djuna Day, is thrilled to announce its upcoming move to a larger, renovated location at 301 Augusta Avenue in the lively Kensington Market neighbourhood. Opening its doors in May, this move marks a significant milestone for the clinic, reflecting its commitment to providing inclusive and specialized services to everyone, particularly the trans community. Bluebird Laser is the only trans-owned and entirely trans-staffed aesthetics clinic in Canada, creating a safe space for those who are often denied services at other clinics.

Since its inception in 2019, Bluebird Laser has been dedicated to providing the best laser hair removal services available. Regardless of gender, orientation, body shape or skin tone, Bluebird Laser is steadfast in its mission to help everyone make their body feel the way they need, offering a safe and welcoming space for all.

“Our move to this larger location in Kensington is a huge step for Bluebird.  Just three years ago we were operating out of a sublet back room on the Danforth.  This larger space allows us to double down on our commitment to offer these services to everyone who doesn’t feel welcomed by the mainstream aesthetics industry says Djuna Day, founder of Bluebird Laser. “Bluebird is the only trans-owned and entirely trans-staffed clinic in Canada.  From the beginning, raising up the Toronto trans and queer community has been at the core of what we do, from hiring and rigorously training an entirely trans staff, to keeping our trans clients at the front of the line. We do the very best work for trans folks removing facial hair, and we are the only clinic in Toronto doing hair removal for both trans femme and trans masc folks preparing for gender reassignment surgery.

The clinic emerged from Day’s personal frustration with the lack of inclusivity in Toronto’s body care and aesthetics industry. Faced with numerous disappointments and unable to find a clinic doing quality work where they knew what to do with her body as a trans woman, Day took matters into her own hands and founded her own clinic. Specializing in pre-surgery laser treatments for trans individuals, Bluebird Laser is the sole provider of this service in Toronto, and one of the leading pre-surgery hair removal clinics in Canada, filling a crucial gap in the market.

By focusing solely on laser treatments and maintaining a commitment to excellence in this service, Bluebird Laser can better serve the unmet needs of the Toronto LGBTQ+ community. Its team of skilled laser technicians take a meticulous, science-based and results-forward approach to hair removal, ensuring it is available to meet every individual need.
