Celebrating individualism comes in many different sizes and forms. For some, it could be their dedication to a specific art form, passion for a certain cause, or an eclectic taste in music. Sassoon reveals new AW17 Collections Mondaine and Jejeune, two series of hair styles celebrating individualism through diverse cuts and styles.
MONDAINE: A homage to Advanced Style & Cristobel Balanciaga
Inspired by today’s anti-fashion movement, the Sassoon International Creative Team explores the relationship between Sassoon Hair Design, and the intermingled creative work of anti-fashion pioneers, the Advanced Stylists and fashion designers.
Mondaine’s inspiration comes from fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga, utilizing unconventional shapes and bold colour combinations in his inimitable designs. Using this connection as a visual framework, this season’s trend cut and colour concepts are based on bold colours, strong lines and precision techniques.
JEJEUNE: MODERN VINTAGE 70s GLAM
Jejeune takes an eclectic approach to interpreting the meaning of ‘individualist’. Today, designers are taking inspiration from an amazing array of source material, creating an aesthetic referencing nostalgia but is not tied down to history. Vintage seventies prints, rebellious leather jackets and vivid sequinned tops alongside folksy embroidered denim are a revival of dressing up with an individual, innovative spirit. It’s this uniquely diverse and nonconformist approach inspiring the Jejeune Collection by Sassoon Academy.
